Syringe V1.1
- a GUI for InjectBrush -
© 1996 by Simon Janich
1. Introduction
Syringe is a GUI for Injectbrush, a tool, which is part of Nicola Samoria's
NewIcon package, and which is used to create new NewIcons by "injecting"
IFF brushes into an existing icon.
2. Requirements
- any Amiga with OS 2.0 or better
- the NewIcon package by Nicolas Samoria (available in the Aminet), with
InjectBrush installed in "C:" and CreateDefaultIcon installed in
"SYS:Utilities"
3. Installation
Simply drag the "Syringe" icon to the desired destination, e.g. to "SYS:Tools".
4. Usage
Syringe should be self-explaining, but for those who still do not get it:
Syringe's GUI consists of three string gadgets, where you can enter
filename and path of the IFF brushes, which should be used for the
new NewIcons normal and selected appearance, and name and path of the
file or directory for which you want to create the icon.
To the left of these string gadgets are buttons labeled with "Select".
By clicking on these you can call up a file requester to select the
desired files (or directories).
At the bottom of Syringe's window is a large button labeled "Inject
Brushes". When you click this button, Syringe starts InjectBrush to do,
what it was made for. If there is no existing icon for the selected file
(or directory), Syringe will ask you, if you want to have an icon created.
If you confirm this, Syringe creates a default icon for the selected file,
using CreateDefaultIcon (which is also part of the NewIcon package).
That's all.
